This painting is of my uncle, Minoru Matsuura, who has sadly passed away. I wanted to capture him the way I remember him — relaxed, smiling, and full of warmth.

The background is painted loosely, to give a sense of place without taking away from his presence. More than just a likeness, this piece is about holding onto a memory and the feeling of being with him.
